How I exceeded my LSAT score goal in 1 try!

My LSAT score got me into my top choice schools!

I was happy with my LSAT score! I know, I know, what does that even mean? What was my score? Ok I’ll tell you, but not today. Because let’s be honest you and I, we have different goals!

Maybe you want to go to an Ivy League school (don’t we all?), or maybe you want to attend law school in your dream location, maybe your dream location is your hometown University. Each of these schools are going to require a different score in order to be accepted.

I won’t tell you my score today. I will tell you that I applied to my top choice schools and I got into all 6 schools. Each school offered me a full tuition scholarship, and some schools added guaranteed paid summer internships.

Here are my first five steps for LSAT Prep:

#1 Goals!

Before you hit the books or pay for an LSAT prep course, and before you register for your test. Set a score goal!

#2 Know Where You’re At!

First take a prep test, this is your starting point. Taking a prep test lets you know how far you are from your goal, more importantly it will show you which sections you are best at and which you are poorest in.

#3 Plan & Schedule!

Map out how much you need to improve each week and then make a schedule based off of that. I did a decently intense schedule, because I didn’t have a ton of time and I needed a lot of improvement. My schedule was a 5-day cycle. The first four days I would do an hour of reading, studying, and practice questions, plus one timed practice section. On the fifth day I took a full-length test.

Check out my 3 step and 3 tips for the perfect exam study schedule here.

#4 Choose Your Poison!

I bought a bunch of paper full-length tests and paid for a comprehensive LSAT prep course book. However, the LSAT is now offered digitally I would recommend doing the majority of your prep on a computer! I have heard great things about the LSAT prep offered on Khan Academy.

#5 Take Care of Yourself!

Through all of this it is so important to stay rested, healthy, and to some extent relaxed. Get enough sleep! Eat healthy, it is easier to eat junk and fast food, don’t do it! Finally, take breaks, have days set aside that you don’t even think about the LSAT.

Happy Studying! And best of luck on your exam!!!
